well knock me over with a bunch of feathers. it seems to have been rather a while since i last blogged, for which i'm sorry.
been a tad busy recently, what with school work and whatnot, so i'll try to fill you in with what has happened recently.
back in (december and) january (ooh, almost a song title there), i helped out with my local pantomime, that i used to perform in, but, this year, i decided just to help out behind the scenes cos of work and having an actual a-level in the middle of the performances. it turned out to be some of the most hectic, frustrating, rewarding and tiring weeks of my life, i think. i was helping out with the junior chorus, which involved chaperoning the girls from the hall to their 'dressing room', getting their next costumes ready, and generally picking and cleaning up after them. the group of girls this year was made up of some old and some new, which, in theory, meant that the 'old' girls could get on with it whilst we helped the new ones. but, of course, when you have a group of ten 10/11 year olds, theories might as well have not been invented. the majority of the girls were lovely, and a real pleasure to work with, but there were a couple who could have helped themselves a bit more, instead of walking into trouble every two seconds. but, overall, it was a really good performance, and congrats to my friends Beckie and Jo for having their first major roles :)
more recently, i have been getting involved more with the Grace (girl's) group at SSH, meaning that i have been feeling a lot more part of the SSH family, which has been nice. SSH are holding a fundraiser this weekend, and a having a talent show. somehow, along the way, i have managed to get involved in that, aswell. firstly, my friend Sarah asked me to do a duet with her, so the other day i went round to her's to record us singing it. there were a couple of gooood videos, consisting of us making each other laugh and generally putting each other off whilst trying to sing. i also wanted to join in with the Grace entry, as we were going to do the Thriller dance, and look really good. however, yesterday, when we were going to plan it out and rehearse, only 4 of us turned up. which resulted in us scrapping the thriller dance, and, er, choreographing a synchronised swively slidey chair dance. dont ask. we got Elijah to record it for us, and when we watched it back, it was so funny, and slightly embarrassing (not as embarrassing as singing though), but he said it looked really good LOL :)
i thiiiiink that's it, apart from the fact i've been being extra nerdy recently, what with Sarah buying Lego Harry Potter for the Wii, which is AMAZING, and so i had to watch Hank Green's youtube videos of him playing it. again. :)
see you on the other side :)

Shine Your light and let the whole world see
The other day I realised how I haven't really picked up my guitar since before results day, which is getting near to a month ago!
So, to make up for it, I'm going to try and learn some new songs :)
I'm going to have a go at: 'You Never Let Go' by Matt Redman and 'Everlasting God' by Chris Tomlin. I might see if I can get the chords for 'Mighty To Save' by Hillsong aswell. I really love them as songs so hopefully they wont be too hard to learn! :)
In other news, I'm now an official zoology student, I'm an official member of the Arrow Players 2011 pantomine, and I'm officially bogged under with photography work, so I'd best be off and do it :)
S'laters...

Stickaid2010
Over the weekend, two british youtubers, Charlie McDonnell and Myles Dyer did a 24 hour stay awake LIVE vlog/show in aid of Stickaid, raising money for Unicef, a charity that helps children in 3rd world countries. It was pretty awesome, they are amazing and inspiring and someday i'd love to be involved with something like that :)
You can still donate, by going to http://www.justgiving.com/stickaid2010, but you only have until the 13th, so please do, and spread the news about it, so even if you cant, maybe someone you know could?
For more info, go to http://www.unicef.org.uk/press/news_detail.asp?news_id=1577 :)
Thank you :)

Patience, Paint, Nail Varnish and Results
Okay. So I admit, I wasn't patient enough with my camera, and, after waiting for about a year the other night, my pictures were finally loaded onto my computer. So it was all a simple case of me not letting technology do it's thang. Sorry tech :)
So, back to last Tuesday. What a day. I think a couple of hurrahs are in order. Firstly, we need a hurrah for visitors of the unexpected kind. Which, in this case, came in the shape of my auntie, who popped in on her way home after going to a party the night before. Next, we need a hurrah for decorating. Or, rather a hurrah for continuing-redecorating-that-started-years-ago-but-was-never-finished. So, out came my dad's old shirts, sandpaper, paint and old raggedy cloths to cover the floor so I didnt paint that accidently. I was painting the frame around my mirror wall paper, whilst listening to cds to keep me sane. I LOVE the colour of the paint I'm using, it's a lovely metallicy lilac, and it looks just lovely, matching my purple wallpaper on the opposite wall. Here's a couple of photos I took of how it all went:

Here's my lovely pot'a paint
Out with the old blue...

and in with the new purple :)
The work in progress!
And my company...Sgt Wolfbanger and Taylor Swift :D
So that was my painting fun!
The next day, I went and saw my amazing friend Beckie, for a lovely girlie day. It was an all round lovely day, even though I confused myself and went to the wrong place to meet. Teehee! We ended up watching Moulin Rouge, which is an amazing film and Ewan McGregor's voice is beautiful! He's so talented, it's awesome :) We also painted our nails, and I, being the crazy friend I am, painted my right hand nails green, and left hand nails red. I can get away with it by saying I'm an art student :D
But, oh my, yesterday. It was what my 5 years of secondary school was all leading up to. GCSE results day. Eeek! Weirdly though, when I was queued up to get my envelope with the grades in, I wasn't really nervous at all! I'm really glad I wasnt though, as last week I had been feeling a bit worried! But I got 7 As and 4 Bs so I'm majorly happy with that :D Plus it means I can do the subjects I want to do next year, so YAYYY :D
Anyhoo, that's quite'a long post, so I'll be off now! :)
Oh, but, PS, I'm currently listening to Amy's Theme from the awesome tv show Doctor Who, it's a really beautiful piece :) and yes, I am a DW nerd...:D

Current technological difficulties...
Well.
I had plannned on posting a blog all about my day, with some lovely pictures. But technology has suddenly turned on me and is refusing to upload my pictures. Which is annoying. So it'll have to wait until tomorrow. And be a double blog. So we'll wait and see!
Fingers crossed, please :)
Oh, and one good thing; my dad bought me a packet of marshmallows today. Made me smile :)

Smile lines :')
It's beeen aaaaaaaaaaages since I last blogged, so I apologise LOADS.
I'm sorry :)
Right.
Recently, I've found this loooovely blog, called 'Delightfully Tacky', a sort of fashion/blog thing. It's amazing! (see side bar). I am in total awe of the girl who writes it, as she has so many beautiful vintage clothes, that create amazing outfits :) It really makes me want to wear vintage inspired clothing. And, since I have to get a new wardrobe for school, I've been looking out for vintage-ish clothes that I can wear to school. And ever-so-slightly failing. All I've managed to find is some jewellery, which, don't get me wrong, I LOVE, but it's just not the same as vintage clothes. But I'll keep looking :)
Although, to be fair, I have found some vintage inspired clothes. Lots of them actually. On this uber cool website; ModCloth. (see side bar aswell). The thing is, it's an American based company, and, since I live in th UK, I figured that the shipping cost will be BIG. So, for now, I'm making a list of all the lovely stuff I like off the website, and I'll have to wait until I get enough money to buy some stuff from there.
But, back to the title of this post; 'Smile Lines'.
It's actually the name of a song by this amazing band called Sgt Wolfbanger, and indie/pop/rock band from Crewe. Ish. I got their album last year, and I totally fell in love with them. Sad thing is, though, the singer has left the band and now Sgt Wolfbanger are no more, as they're looking for a new singer and a new name. Kinda sucks, right? My friend, Emily, asked them to, like, get back together, which would be amaze, but I really doubt it happening. Sadly. But, please help these guys out by buying theire album off iTunes; maybe if they get loads of people buying it they will think twice about the whole new singer, new name fiasco.
That's all, folks :)
